STATION 5
The Lighthouse of Professional Development

Teams ways to integrate continuous professional development (CPD) into a teacher's weekly routine, referencing ISO guidelines
This game's objective was to enable participants to apply the assessment guidelines outlined in ISO 29992 and ISO 29993, ensuring transparency and accuracy in evaluating learning outcomes. Through role-play scenarios, participants will simulate real-life assessment situations, critically analyzing methods to enhance fairness, reliability, and effectiveness in both formal and non-formal education settings.

The Lighthouse stood tall, guiding participants through the often murky waters of assessment. At this station, participants explored one of the most critical aspects of education: ensuring fair, transparent, and accurate assessment in alignment with ISO 29992 and ISO 29993.
Through interactive role-play, they became teachers, students, and evaluators, stepping into each other's shoes to experience the complexities of assessment firsthand. Laughter, debates, and even a few frustrated sighs filled the room as they navigated real-world challenges: How do we ensure fairness? What happens when bias creeps into assessment? How can we create evaluations that truly reflect a learner's progress?
The role-playing scenarios were eye-opening. Some participants realized how easily personal bias could influence grading. Others saw the struggles students face when assessment criteria are unclear. But most importantly, they learned that assessment is not just about giving grades—it's about guiding growth.
By the end, the Lighthouse had done its job. It illuminated the path forward, helping participants understand that assessment must be transparent, consistent, and aligned with international standards. They walked away with a renewed perspective, knowing that as future educators, they held the power to shape fair and meaningful learning experiences.
